Talk and Afternoon Tea with the Warden - May 2023 - SOLD OUT

Back by popular demand!

Talk and Tea with the Warden
Event starts at 2pm with Afternoon Tea served at 3pm on Wednesday 3rd May.

Explore Gladstone's Library and get to know our Warden!

Following a sell-out event in March, our Warden, Andrea Russell, is hosting regular afternoon tea events here at the Library. The afternoon begins with a 30 minute talk, where Andrea will share some of the history of the Library and of its founder William Gladstone, and a little of how she came to be Warden here. This will be followed by a short tour of the Reading Rooms.

A view of the vestibule from the History Room to the Theology Room. There are bookshelves to each side.

A Welsh Afternoon tea will then be served in our Food for Thought Restaurant. Enjoy a selection of finger sandwiches, scones and dainty cakes and tea. Andrea will join the group for this convivial Tea.

There are free tea refills during this part of the day, so you can enjoy a relaxed and leisurely afternoon treat.

Gluten free, vegetarian and vegan versions of the Afternoon Tea are available. Please ensure you add any allergy/special dietary requirements into the information section when you purchase your ticket online.

Andrea will join the group for tea and so there will be a chance to have a further conversation and ask questions.
