While hard at work on her next novel Enlightenment (the title has just been announced!), Sarah Perry hasn’t just been staring at a screen. Her beloved telescope took her from her Norwich garden to galaxies far beyond our own – and ultimately to interviewing the Italian theoretical physicist Carlo Rovelli.
Now, the starry sky has a long association with the inspiration of great writers, but as we’ll hear from Sarah, they hold a very specific significance for her and her recent writing. Will we get an exclusive on what is one of the most hotly-anticipated book releases of 2024? We don’t know – but you’ll have to be there to find out!
Sarah Perry is the author of?Essex Girls,?Melmoth,?The Essex Serpent?and? After Me Comes the Flood. She has been the UNESCO City of Literature writer-in-residence in Prague and a Gladstone’s Library writer-in-residence. Her work has been translated into twenty-two languages and in 2021 The Essex Serpent became a critically acclaimed series for Apple TV. She lives in Norwich where she is currently completing her new novel for publication next year.
