Come and ponder what wells that you are drawing from. Where do you meet with God? Where are you finding refreshment? Are the cisterns dry and cracked? Are you drawing from toxic wells? This is an opportunity to stop and just be.
Well Women is a short break based on Bible stories of women who are challenged or refreshed at wells. It will involve learning, laughter, (hopefully) reflection and relaxation in the beautiful setting of Gladstone's Library - an ideal pre-Christmas break.
The leaders are Liz Shercliff and Kate Bruce, writers, researchers and speakers on Bible women. Their popular book Out of the Shadows: Preaching the Women of the Bible is described by TV vicar Kate Bottley as "important, accessible and comprehensive." The second in the series is due out in early 2024.
Liz Shercliff is based at the Luther King Centre in Manchester where she manages Chaplaincy programmes and teaches biblical studies and ethics. Kate Bruce is a chaplain and dabbles in stand-up comedy.
