British media executive and former Deputy Prime Minister of the UK Nick Clegg returns to Gladstone's Library for this talk.
Mr Clegg, now working in a high-profile role for Meta (Facebook), became Leader of the Liberal Democrat party in 2007 and served as Deputy PM from 2010 to 2015.
He stepped back from British politics in 2017 after being appointed Vice-President for Global Affairs and Communications of Facebook. He was promoted to President for Global Affairs at Meta Platforms in 2022.
Mr Clegg has written extensively about technology, politics and policy, including Between the Extremes (2016), How to Stop Brexit (And Make Britain Great Again) (2017) and The Responsibilities of Democracy (co authored with John Major and published 2020).
