Do you hold an interest in Hebrew? One of the oldest language still spoken today, its written form dates back to at least 10th century BCE.
Join us for a weekend course of 12 sessions covering the entire text of the Book of Jonah. This immersive course offers an opportunity to explore both the language and key ideas of a major Book of the Hebrew Bible, with grammatical explanations as required as the course progresses.
The group size will be limited to 10 people to ensure that this is a positive teaching and learning experience.
The course is led by Gordon McPhate, a respected academic with a background in medicine. He studied Hebrew and Greek at Cambridge in preparation for ministry as an Anglican priest in London. He later became Dean of Chester for 15 years, concurrently teaching Theology at the University of Chester, until retirement to Llandudno in 2017.
All taught sessions are held in the Glynne Room. All mid-session refreshments served in the foyer. Breakfast (residents only), Lunch and Dinner served in Food for Thought.
