by |

Gladstone’s Library welcomed Professor A.C. Grayling to the Library as part of its Founder’s Day celebrations this month. As part of the day’s events he gave a lecture on ‘The necessity of a liberal education’ to a packed library of enthusiastic listeners.

A.C. Grayling’s literary career spans over thirty years and deals with thought provoking and innovative ideas, Grayling has even published a secular bible, The Good Book in 2011. His latest book The God Argument, published this year, furthers the ideas found in The Good Book, arguing the case against religion and for humanism. Both books have been bestsellers. His drive and passion for this subject have led him to found and become the first Master of New College of the Humanities (www.nchum.org), a private university modelled on the liberal arts colleges of the USA.
