As we approach Gladfest, we are pleased to announce that we will be running a series of competitions to win a selection of fabulous festival prizes.
The first of these competitions is run in conjunction with our friends at Theatr Clwyd whose new version of Chekhov’s Uncle Vanya opens in September.
Uncle Vanya is a poignant comedy about polite people going crazy in the middle of nowhere. When people drink too much and don’t have enough sex, can they ever take a leap and change their own lives?
On Friday, 1st September at Gladfest at Gladstone’s Library, writer Peter Gill and director Tamara Harvey will discuss the joys and challenges of staging this brand new adaptation. There will also be a not-to-be-missed exclusive rehearsed reading by some of the production’s actors.
The play opens at Theatr Clwyd on Thursday, 21st September and runs until Saturday, 14th October.
To WIN a fantastic Uncle Vanya bundle including a pair of tickets to the Gladfest rehearsed reading as well as a pair of tickets to the production at Theatr Clwyd, all you need to do is answer the following question:
Who originally wrote Uncle Vanya?
- Leo Tolstoy
- Fyodor Dostoyevsky
- Anton Chekhov
To be in with a chance of winning, simply email your answer along with your name and contact telephone number to [email protected]. Please include ‘Uncle Vanya Competition’ as the subject of your email.
The competition closes at 11.59pm on Sunday, 25th June and the winner will be contacted thereafter.
Good luck!
