Gladstone’s Library has a thriving volunteer programme. Volunteers work in the Reading Rooms, help give tours, and tend to the gardens. Volunteers help us extend our team and broaden our skills.
We are currently looking for a small team of Site Information Volunteers for our Gladfest literary festival which takes place at the Library 1st – 3rd September.
Site Information Volunteers will form a crucial team at the festival gates, directing guests around the site and providing information and directions including parking.
Shifts will be allocated in blocks of four hours between the following times:
- Friday, 1st September: 5pm - 9pm
- Saturday, 2nd September: 9am - 9pm
- Sunday, 3rd September: 8am - 6pm
All volunteers will receive free tea (!) as well as being part of our wonderful festival team. This is a great, sociable opportunity to meet like-minded people and brilliant for the CV!
We are also looking for a team of Grounds Volunteers to help get the site looking its best before the festival. These volunteers should be available for immediate start and able to commit to one morning a week. Grounds Volunteers will work with our maintenance man, Paul, on weeding, pruning, flower beds and other gardening tasks!
