Please note that the sign-up regulations for Friends of the Library are changing.
Following advice from our insurers, Gladstone’s Library is now only able to accept Friend applications from individuals in Year 12 and above. As the Reading Rooms at Gladstone’s Library are unstaffed after 5pm, unfortunately individuals under this age are not permitted to remain in this unsupervised area due to safeguarding issues.
The benefits of being a Friend of Gladstone's Library include advance notice of special offers and events, extended use of the Reading Rooms (daily 9am - 10pm), priority booking for Gladfest, Founder’s Day and other special events, plus Friends-only offers and events. Individuals wishing to join Gladstone’s Library as a Friend must return their completed application along with two forms of ID; one with a photograph (such as a passport or citizenship card), and the other with proof of home address (such as a medical letter). Without sufficient ID Gladstone’s Library cannot process this application.

Any individuals below Year 12 age wishing to join the Library can sign up as Readers to use the Reading Rooms Monday – Saturday, 9am – 5pm. When submitting a Reader application, the individual must present two separate forms of ID as detailed above.
